๐ค Call Pickup
๐งฉ 1. Introduction
The Call Pickup feature allows you to easily answer an incoming call that is ringing at a colleagueโs phone.
This is especially useful within teams or departments where multiple phones may ring simultaneously.
With a simple shortcode, you can immediately take over a ringing call โ whether itโs a random call, a call within a group, or one directed to a specific user.
โ๏ธ 2. Types of Call Pickup
There are three ways to pick up a call:
๐น 1. General Call Pickup
Shortcode: *8
โก๏ธ This allows you to pick up any ringing call from a colleague.
Useful when you want to quickly assist with incoming calls without knowing exactly who is being called.
Example:
A colleagueโs phone is ringing โ you dial *8 โ the call is immediately transferred to your phone.
๐น 2. Group Pickup
Shortcode: *8{group number}
โก๏ธ This lets you pick up a call within a specific call group.
The system automatically selects one of the ringing calls in that group.
Example:
Dial *812 โ you pick up a call that is ringing in call group 12.
๐น 3. User Pickup
Shortcode: *8{user extension}
โก๏ธ This allows you to pick up a call directed to a specific colleague, based on their internal extension number.
Example:
Your colleague with extension 203 is receiving a call โ you dial *8203 โ the call is transferred to your phone.
๐ก 3. Tips for Use
Call pickup only works for phones that are currently ringing.
The feature can be used on desk phones, the Qaller app, and WebCalls.
